Mälardalen Student Union (Studentkåren in Swedish) is the acknowledged student union at Mälardalen University. It is formed by students who work for students with the aim of making your study period as good as possible. Its area of work is conducted both within and outside the university, where it mainly focuses on student influence and added student value. This is achieved by networking, strategical collaboration and development of new cooperations both within and outside the academical sphere.

Within Studenkåren, there is an international committee that works for student representation and social life. It defends the interest of international students in matters such as education, living conditions and accommodations and social life. Moreover, it organizes activities and trips so that international students can socialize and discover Sweden.
